Gustavus and Glacier Bay are treasures and Aimee's Guesthouse is the first "X" on your treasure map! Situated on 10 acres along the Salmon River in central Gustavus, your vacation home is surrounded by wildflower meadows and a panoramic view of the Excursion Ridge and Icy Strait.

Aimee's Guest House is the former Salmon River Smokehouse. Two apartments fill the spaces where the crew put their feet up, and where the smoked salmon and halibut got Christmas-wrapped for shipment throughout the United States.

Here at Aimee's, we are pleased to offer you a place to relax after a "hard day’s work" at play. When you arrive to Gustavus, a Taxi or rental car will greet you on arrival and bring you to your door. From there you can walk to the grocery store, golf course, or beach. Bikes are available to quicken your pace. You can stroll down to the river and watch the salmon slalom, or you can put your feet up and watch the world of eagles, ravens, geese, and hawks. Binoculars are available for a close-up of a bear or moose passing by or stopping to graze..

Activities in the Area

May and June are filled with migrating birds, king salmon, and everchanging fields of flowers. Summer activities from May 15th through Labor Day include world class kayaking, hiking beaches and forests, whale-watching, charter and sport fishing, golfing, eco-tours, bicycling, and so much more.

8 miles away, the road ends at Bartlett cove, where the daily glacier tour begins, and Glacier Bay National Park offers naturalist programs and guided hikes.

There are also several delicious options for dining within walking or bicycling distance of your home at Aimee's. Gustavus' inns and restaurants pride themselves in their use of the abundance of gardens and seafood.

Lodging Rates & Details

Aimee's Guesthouse provides spacious rentals for short or long term stays in Gustavus. Perfect for those looking for stylish, comfortable, fully furnished, and fully equipped apartments, we have 2 choices for you:

The Riverfront Apartment * The Meadow Apartment: a well-appointed studio suite with kitchen and dining areas, private entry, a queen sized bed and full bath. Windows watch the ever-changing fields of wildflowers. The price for this apartment is $100 per day or $650 per week.

* The Riverview Apartment: has two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, dining room, living room, full bath, and a wonderful 12’x24’ deck to take in the afternoon sun with the salmon river meadows & mountains. There’s a double bed in the smaller room, a queen bed in the larger, and a double futon in the suite. The price for the apartment is $150 per day for two, $20 each additional person. Weekly discount- $1000 per week for up to four persons.($140 per week for each additional). A day bed and hammock on the semi- enclosed deck is a favorite for children and fresh air lovers who can sleep in the midnight dusk.

More Details and a few Policies:

1) Both apartments have telephones, radios, and TV/ DVD players. The extensive and eclectic library is in the laundry room and is shared by both apartments.

2) Smoking is accommodated outside or on deck only.

3) Taxi or your own rental car will bring you to Aimee's Guest House, where one-speed bicycles will adjust your pace to life in the country!

4) Coffee, tea, cocoa, and an assortment of condiments are provided in these self-catering apartments. Special arrangements for your grocery list of breakfast foods can be made for weary whirlwind travellers.

5)This unique town deserves (and the cleaning lady recommends) a three-day minimum stay. Rooms are reserved upon receipt of one-half rental fee. Full payment is due upon arrival. Refunds, less a $25 processing fee, will be given if your reservation is cancelled more than 30 days before your scheduled arrival. After this time, refunds apply only if the rooms can be re-booked.

6) Gustavus has just become Alaska's newest city, therefore, a 4% bed tax applies... Voila!
